If you are a provider participating in the EOM, you may be searching for efficient and effective ways to meet priorities of this new model. Here's how our bundled service packages can support your participation with value-based, patient-centered care.
The Enhancing Oncology Model (EOM) aims to transform cancer care, improving the quality of patient care while also reducing program spending under Medicare fee-for-service. Like the Oncology Care Model (OCM) preceding it, the EOM focuses on value-based, patient-centered care for patients undergoing systemic chemotherapy in 6-month episodes of care.1
The EOM, a 5-year voluntary model designed by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), builds on lessons learned from the OCM and continues the value-based journey in oncology care — historically a high-cost area of Medicare spending.
The primary goal of this new model is to put patients at the center of the oncology care team with equitable, high-value, evidence-based care. Under the EOM, “participants are incentivized to consider the whole patient and engage with them proactively, during and between appointments.”1
The EOM presents opportunities not only to optimize patient care, but to reduce cancer costs and streamline processes through improved coordination.2
